NOTE: Starting with version 3.24 you can now export out your pop3 emails in MBox format to export and import through different versions of MailDroid using the backup pop3 menu item under settings. Emails will NOT transfer automatically at this time.2. Uninstall MailDroid Ad version (you dont need it anymore and can uninstall it at any point)3. Install MailDroid Pro4. Can't connect to Gmail. No response from support. Moving to aqua mail.
With recent versions of Android (11 and 12) the Maildroid notifications mechanism remains flaky when the device in on, but not in use; the app gets stuck (in that it is unable to connect to IMAP servers) at least once a day; and the Crypto Plugin-based S/MIME mechanism does not work, unless you imported certificates while still in older versions of Android. The developer said about one year ago that all these issues would be fixed by the end of 2021. The bottom-line: if you have a device running an Android version older than 11, this app may still be fine. Under Android 11 and 12, it is worse than useless. I give up - this app is abandon-ware.

04162022- GREAT NEWS! MailDroid Functioning again ! - 02102022: Just read the alert posted for Maildroid in GooglePlay. They're working on the licensing issue due to a google upgrade. Hope this resolves my outgoing email where smtp access is currently unsuccessful. GREAT APP still in 2022. --- 07/18/2020:Its now 2020 and still this is the best email app ever. The functions are flawless and the interfacing is unmatchable.--- 11/23/2017: LOVE this app! Its my number one most used app every day!

I have been using this app for many years, but since I got a new phone, I get Java errors when I try to add a storage folder. Nor can I rename existing folders. Plus, I cannot add my gMail account. The Google login works, but then this app runs into a problem. I contacted Maildroid support and they have NEVER got back to me. I am in search of a replacement app.

Sadly it seems to be out of support, no response from support, Outlook, hotmail and gmail not working anymore
I've use this for email on my android phones for about 10 years. It does almost everything I've ever wanted to do. Most importantly, it does it smoothly, quickly, and doesn't crash all the time like every other email app I've tried. I've loaded other apps including Outlook. Hands down, this is more powerful.
Cannot even log into the Gmail account that is linked to this phone and works for everything else. Instead, it displays a "connection refused" error, although five other e-mail applications work just fine with the exact same detsils and credentials. Uninstalled.
